If one of the five subjects is 'Citizenship and Social Development', the admission requirement will be "Attained" for 'Citizenship and Social Development' and Level 3 in English Language and Level 2 in other three subjects including Chinese Language.
A maximum of two Applied Learning subjects, excluding Applied Learning Chinese (ApL(C)), can be used in the application. "Attained", "Attained with Distinction (I)" and "Attained with Distinction (II)" Level in Applied Learning subjects will be considered as equivalent to Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 in HKDSE subjects respectively.
Applied Learning Chinese (ApL(C)) will be accepted as an alternative Chinese Language qualification for admission consideration for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) DSE candidates.
Note: Interview is required.
This programme will be offered on a two-year full-time basis, and based on a credit unit system.

More than 80% of HD in English Studies graduates received offers from local or overseas universities in the latest cohort, among them over 60% were admitted to UGC-funded universities (senior-year admission). In the internship programme, students are able to apply what they have learnt from classes in the real working environment, which in turn helps consolidate their knowledge acquired.

During the first summer break, our students can opt for an English Study Tour elective. Birmingham International Summer School at the University of Birmingham, the United Kingdom provides our students with precious immersion experience. Students can meet world-class scholars and improve English communication skills. They are also able to broaden global horizons and enhance cultural awareness.
The performance of participants is monitored and assessed by a variety of assessment methods, such as projects, class participation, assignments, tests and examinations.
