Business and Human Resource Management

Applicants should fulfill any one of the following requirements:

• Level 2 in five subjects* in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination including Chinese Language^# and English Language, or equivalent; or
• Pass in one A Level or two AS Level subjects, plus five passes in HKCEE including Level 2/Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language, or equivalent; or
• Satisfactory completion of the Diploma Yi Jin Programme; or
• Aged 21 or above.

This programme will be offered on a two-year full-time basis, and based on a credit unit system.

Graduates are eligible to become Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management (HKIHRM) Associate Member after passing HKIHRM's associate member assessment.

Local Articulation

1. Top-up Undergraduate Degree Programmes jointly offered by CUSCS and Griffith University. Graduates can complete these programmes in about one year.
2. UGC-funded or self-funded Undergraduate Degree Programmes offered by local universities. In recent years, our graduates have been admitted to the following local bachelor degree programmes:
   • Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Human Resources Management, Hong Kong Baptist University
   • Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Job opportunities are open to our graduates in a wide range of human resource related positions. Types of work include recruiting, training, pay and benefits administration, mandatory provident fund, employee relations and staff activities in private companies, non-profit making organisations and the government. Some of our graduates are working in Jardine Matheson Limited, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, DHL, Hong Tai Travel Agency, Peninsula Clubs & Consultancy Services Limited, The Open University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Police Force.

Mode of Delivery

The programme will mainly be conducted in the form of lectures and tutorials. A variety of learning formats will be used to facilitate the interactive dynamics of students, to stimulate their analytical thinking and to encourage the free exchange of ideas. These include group discussions, presentations, and case studies.

Medium of Instruction

Teaching activities will be conducted in English and Cantonese as deemed appropriate. Learning materials will be in English and Chinese as deemed appropriate.

Assessment Methods

Performance of students is monitored and assessed on a continuous basis using a variety of methods, such as assignments, class participation, projects, and final examinations.
